Nutcracer Dresses

I am trying to catch up as fast as I can with out leaving out the important details. Maybe I am not very good at doing a quick synopsis. As you can tell from my last post.
I sewed a couple of dresses for the nutcracker. I unfortunately didn't get pics of the Spanish dresses that I made. Which is a bummer because they were really cool and not to pat my own back but I didn't have a pattern just a dress to copy. So if and when I get pics I will post them. I also made a couple of random things and then this dress for a little girl who was in the party scene of the nutcracker. I had Cambryn model it for me.

I started with a flower girl dress and then turned it into a nutcracker appropriate dress. I love doing projects like this.
This is totally going to make me sound dorky, but whatever. So I totally research all about the nutcracker. The time period it was written, when it was preformed all that good stuff. That way I would make a time period appropriate dress.
I learned all sorts of interesting facts.

This is the dress I started with. It was gorgeous to start with

This is what I turned it into. Don't make fun of I took lot's of pics.

Stay tuned for more nutcracker pictures...

That is ridiculous. How do you do that? Do they pay you enough to make it worth it?

Wow - the dress looks great. What type of nutcracker production is this? Like Ballet West type level? Your costume would definately make the cut. Very cute model too.
How is it you get all these kids with red hair and I get none?

I love it! I wouldn't even recognize the "before" except for the bodice! I'm like you--I love clothing history. I took that class at BYU. I've been researching authentic 1904 fashions to make for our American dolls. I'm a dork too...

you are so talented. I can't believe i know you.
