Okay so I have noticed my crafts have started to take over this blog. No lie! So I have started a new blog where you can see all my latest and greatest. Let's face it you all are stopping by to see my kids not my crafts. So if you decide to check out what I am doing you can head on over to patteycakes.blogspot.com.
Why did I decide to use Patteycakes you might ask. . . Kiki asked me and she thinks a lot like I do so I better explain. When you have a baby, which I do, you show off everything they do. So these are my patteycakes, things I am basically showing off. Whether great or not, they are the things I am working on.
If I am working on a large project for you, you might get a sneak peak before you get it. Won't that be fun. It is up and running. Don't worry life is still happening so you will still see plenty of going on's Right Here! Of course my life and crafts are so intertwined it would be impossible for them to not collide sometimes and you might still see some crafts here. . .Sorry
So this is my farewell post to crafts here. So yesterday I made cake for the Relief Society Birthday. First off I didn't have Alisa which was a major problem. I had to do the cake by myself. Also I decided for my family's sanity to not stay up all night the night before to work on the cake because I had the whole next day. I am not complaining I am just telling you about my day and why I get seriously nothing done. I am sure all of you with kids know exactly what I mean. Okay so I had this cake to do. Only frost it because I had cooked all of them earlier. I had a couple of errands to run, had to drop the car off to worked on go to the gym, babysit, take Cambryn to school and pick her up, violin recital practice to take Cambryn too and make it to Enrichment early to set the cake up. Okay just making to Enrichment alone, ON TIME would be a miracle for me. Okay so I woke up evaluated my day decided to bag the gym and rescheduled the car. My day was going good.
Then Rigdon stood outside the baby gate in the kitchen screaming bloody murder because he wanted me. I let that carry on for a while. I couldn't think I thought what the heck I'll just let him in the kitchen. SO I let him in he goes straight for the kitchen table and dumps the kids waters from the morning all over the floor. You think I would learn --he does this daily with either their cups or the dogs water bowl. So I grab the baby and take him back to the living room gate back up, screaming. Go get a towel. Slip on the floor because the water puddle was bigger then I thought. Oui that was fun.....
Did I mention that I forgot to let the dog out so she peed on my bed. Not the floor my bed. So now I get to wash all the sheets, mattress pad, pillows and blanket. Still not holding screaming baby. Okay so then I thought lets put Rigdon in his High chair. Why I gave him peaches I don't know. After 10 min I turn around and he is wearing peaches everywhere including his hair.
It was so much faster to just give him a bath so I did. Which he decided after 5 min of being in the bath to poop in the bathtub. So then I got to clean the tub and bath toys. Then he started crying again because I took him out of the bath.
So nap time. So I put him down and guess what he slept for 3.5 hrs. WOW I got so much done. But no errands that I HAD to do. I decided during that time to bag the elaboratly decorated cake and go for a much simpler design. I got all the cakes frosted not decorated picked up the house I was waiting for him to wake up so I could go out and get things done. Normally I would just wake him up but he was so fussy I thought it might be better for him to just sleep.
Any way the rest of the day was just as busy and also included a major poop blow out from Rigdon. . . Thank you green peas. 2 poopy accidents in 1 day. I also had to make sure that every time I left the kitchen I had to put the cake in fridge. Molly recently has decided that anything left on the table has obviously been left for her. I could just see me coming back in the kitchen and Molly lifting her cake covered dog face out the cake. Luckily that did NOT happen. Wow what a day I had. So here is my cake.
When I picked up Kim that night I asked her if she was ready to be my Alisa. She said "Uh Oh" but then said sure. It was so nice to have someone help me bring in all my stuff and the cakes and then help me set up. Thanks Kim You are awesome!
And just for a good laugh this is the first cake I ever made. It was for Charles's Birthday. My mom was in New York with my grandma. I think she was helping her move to Utah. Any way my mom always made these super fancy and fun cakes for all our birthdays. I wanted to do the same thing for my brother. Yup that is a 2 layer cake with a filling and everything. As you can plainly see by the cake and our expressions It clearly did not turn out as I expected. I remember talking to my mom on the phone. Trying to figure out what I did wrong with the frosting. I spent hrs on that cake. Okay it is pretty funny. I am so glad we took a picture cause I get a kick out of it!! Who would have thought that the same person who made that would make pretty wedding cakes down the road. This was so long I hope I get a grade for this :)

Okay wait.....you made that cake?? What can't you do girl?? my email is tinamarie312@hotmail.com......how are all of the baby blankets coming??
I just got done grading papers so I give yours an A!! Sounds like you had an eventful day, but the cake turned out fabulous!!
Your post made me laugh! This is so typical of my days lately. That last picture is they way I remember you the most. Oh, the good 'ol days. Love the cake.
the cake looks wonderful! great job! and no one deserves to have two poop accidents to clean up on a day like that. Good thing your a trooper!
I am so jealous!! I've always wished I was a crafty person. Believe me, I've tried, and it just doesn't work for me. Instead, I just get to envy people like you!
By the way, I love the name of your new blog!
you crack me up... I can't help but laugh at all your mishaps.
This is fun: look at the picture of you on the bottom of the post, then scroll down a little and look at the next picture. You two look so much a like! Sorry, just thought I would share.
Okay, that last comment was actually me. My son must have checked his email and he was still logged in. That was weird to see HIS name there.
WOW!! The RS cake was a down-scaled version of what you had planned? AMAZING!!!!
I have dabbled in cake making... it was desasterous! My sister and I made layered cakes one night several years ago. THey were delicious... and ugly as sin. They didn't stay vertical, the frosting and filling eventually slid all over the place, it was just pathetic.
Since then I have become a confirmed 9X13 girl. Tastey, just not nearly as attractive.
Your cake was beautiful, dear!
Willow -- the dreaded cyber-stalker. =)
This has been where Willow is hiding. We've been looking for her. Wow! What an amazing cake!!! You are truly talented!! I don't want you to feel bad about thinking that Inky Dinky Do was my living. It's not. I teach. Steph (the owner) and I are really good friends. I help her out on occassion with special projects. I do honey do's for her to help her out and she helps me to improve my photography skills for my own selfish purposes. I am beginning to shoot weddings for for her for pay, but I plan to spend the money on camera stuff. So back to the question, how do I do it all? When the kiddies are in bed or when my husband agrees to watch the kiddies. He is very supportive! Off to see your new blog! BTW, are you taking DID w/ Jessica?
you rock, cyndi. it is so nice to know that i am not alone in those crazy days. it is funny how it can be so hellish in the moment, but looking back there are so many endearing moments. i miss you so much, you have no idea! i hope we get together and play this summer!
